JPG, PNG or WebP: choose your output

A practical workflow for useful image conversions without losing your original.

Choose by the job

Use PNG when preserving transparent pixels matters. JPG does not preserve transparency; our converter fills those areas with white. WebP is an alternative for many web images. The browser checks whether it can produce the requested output type and reports an unsupported format instead of silently giving you the wrong file extension.

Resize before reducing quality

An image may be larger in dimensions than its destination needs. The resizer fits inside your maximum width and height, keeps the aspect ratio and does not enlarge a smaller original. After resizing, compare quality levels in the compressor. A lower quality setting does not guarantee a smaller file than every existing optimized source.

Know the limitations

Keep your original. These tools target everyday raster images, not professional colour-management workflows. Animated WebP is rejected; other multi-frame images may use the browser’s first frame. Metadata and colour profiles may change during browser re-encoding. Each file is limited to 10 MB and 20 megapixels. The image-to-PDF tool allows ten images and puts one on each A4 page.
