Compress image to a target size in KB (20 KB, 50 KB, 100 KB)

Reduce a photo or scanned signature to the exact file size an online form asks for, such as 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB. Quality is lowered first, then dimensions if needed.

Your inputs stay in this tab. We do not receive your files, pasted text or calculation values.

Method & assumptions

Reduce a photo or scanned signature to the exact file size an online form asks for, such as 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB. Quality is lowered first, then dimensions if needed.

binary search on encoder quality (5–95 %), then scale by √(target ÷ size) until the file fits

Worked example

photo.jpg (2.4 MB, 3000 × 4000) → photo-50kb.jpg (49 KB, 1060 × 1413, quality 62 %)

Limits & important notes

1 KB is counted as 1,024 bytes, as most upload forms do. Some forms also set minimum sizes or exact pixel dimensions: enter the longest side if one is required.
